Eyes

I'm taking part in Wild Arena's July Photo Challenge this month (or at least I'm going to see how far I get with it!) and today's theme was 'eyes'.

This is Ferdinand the pheasant (or Ferdy as I call him) in the garden during a brief rain shower this afternoon.

Here's the challenge info:

He looks startled, as if to say, why are you taking a picture of me? Great shot though

I don't think he looks very happy, poor chap. Fab shot.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm glad to see so many of you thinking Ferdy is real. Confession time - he is real, but not alive! This is a road kill pheasant that has been stuffed! Dave and I had a discussion after I took this photo as Dave wasn't convinced the 'dead' eyes looked right but I disagreed and thought they were very realistic and Ferdy would pass as a live bird! They're clearly realistic enough!

I bought Ferdinand from a local, ethical taxidermist back in March with a specific purpose in mind that as yet, sadly, has not been realised but I hope it will be soon. He was also my 'model' for this photo - http://365project.org/roachling/365/2016-04-09 - I'd never have got that sort of detail if he had been able to run away ;)

Ha ha you (or Ferdy) had us all fooled. Still a great shot though

@roachling Ah Louise, I should have known! I remember you telling me about Ferdy on your blog a while back - this definitely had me fooled!
