High Key

I'm taking part in Wild Arena's July Photo Challenge this month and today's theme was 'high key'.

I would like to know how to do a high key shot, without washing out the main part of the image. I like the way you have done this

I just set the camera 'wrong'! I set the shutter speed a bit slower than needed so the image was brighter - a bit of trial and error on the speed - some were too dark, some were really bright. I've never done high key before (I don't like it really) so don't know any of the technicalities. I wasn't sure this was bright enough for High Key at first but I read a few discussions about it here (I just searched for 'high key') and found it was.
