A blood bee by roachling

A blood bee

I've been working today, delivering a bushcraft party for Derbyshire Wildlife Trust, a group of children aged 2-6 who had a great time. I'm feeling very tired today after a very busy week. I didn't take any photos whilst I was out but when I got home, spotted this bee on the hedge and have identified it as a type of blood bee, Sphecodes ephippius.
You are a hard worker - just like the bees :) !!

Another new one on me. I love how you've captured the movement of the wing Louise. Sounds like a busy day. Feet up now, and a cup of tea.

What an interesting find, I don't think I've ever seen one of these.
Hope you get to put your feet up for a while!
