Cayton Bay by roachling

Cayton Bay

It was so good to see the sea today. I haven't seen it for nearly two years, I think my last trip to the coast was for a whale watching trip in Whitby in August 2016.

We also called at Bempton Cliffs to see the seabirds and then much later on, had a wander in the cemetery (we're staying in a former chapel) with the bat detector where we saw two species of bat and loads of cockchafers.

It looks so peaceful there, with only the sound of the waves. What a treat. Sounds like you've been having a busy time in the evening too.

Lovely shot, and just how I like a beach to be, not overcrowded.

Much nicer weather than we had a couple of days ago!

Beautiful scene. I was at Pickering in the week and so nearly made the 30 min drive to Scarborough to see the sea but alas work got in the way!

@rjb71 That's a shame. I called at Pickering on my way to the beach, just because I was passing and had never visited before!
