Building

Today was the big garden work day! Boxed in some laurels that were here when we moved in and then moved the acer that was (stupidly) placed in the middle of the garden to the end of the new raised laurel bed where it looks so much better. Also recovered the path and slabs from underneath the overgrown grass, got the stump out, dug the pond in and built the new habitat wall. Above is my sister working on it!

The terracotta pipes will - when I get around to sorting them out - contain solitary bee tubes and we bought some facing bricks with holes in to stuff with other materials so this wall is a big bug hotel really with gaps big enough for other creatures - maybe a mouse or hidey holes for a frog or something... time will tell!
Such an amazing array of textures!

@kjarn Considering this is a wall made up of dug up, random bits of all sorts (plus a handful of bricks I bought) it looks really good - far better than I expected it to! I will share a finished wall photo soon!
