I never did catch any butterflies just emerging. This is the last of the 8 that I had been caring for. All 8 made it! The only failure I know of is the one that attached itself to a lawn chair. Maybe the heat, maybe the pressure where it leaned against the chair. I found an "ear wig" (ear wick?) burrowed into that chrysallis and dining on the would be butterfly. I'll post a picture of that in yesterday's slot.

Amazing critter for sure. I still have to learn more about the whole migration process. I seem to recall reading the an entire migration "loop" may actually be a multi-generational project, but I'm not sure.
