love these birds. This poor fella appears to be operating with only one leg, but food is plentiful. Will keep an eye on him so long as he's in the neighborhood.

Lynn, leg to right is non-functional. On land you can see that the foot doesn't touch the ground. To move he gives a quick flap of the wings for lift and then hops on the one leg. Food is snails and clams so mobility isn't a problem. Hope to see him in flight as he seems to leave the pond in the evening.
