What's in a name?

Any budding entomologist out there? The first of these I recall seeing and can't find it in my books.
I call it in my language "Russischer Bäre", that would be a Euplagia quadripunctaria, Jersey tiger. But we better ask Stephen Riddel @steveandkerry. He will know for sure.

Should have mentionned locale, which is Western Maine, USA. My sister's Audubon book calls it an "Ornate Tiger Moth". Related to your Russicher Bare, I'd guess! @mona65

It seems to match perfectly with the Virgin Tiger Moth (Grammia virgo) in my "bible" - 4 years ago someone here on 365 recommended the "National Wildlife Federation Field Guide to Insects and Spiders of North America" and it's been terrific for identification. Best $20 I spent.
