I took a pic of this tulip last year and entitled it "After the rain". Well this one was also taken after the rain but I think it is a very pretty tulip. I can see it from one of my kitchen windows and it sits amongst the forget me nots. The tulips seem to have last well this year despite the changeable weather. This little flower bed is adjacent to the vegetable patch which used to have flowers in it until I dug it all up to grow vegetables. I have been digging the rest of the vegetable patch today in preparation for planting my courgette plants which are almost ready to go out. I planted some of my beans today but will wait for the others to catch up before I plant the rest. Although the seeds were planted at the same time, for some reason they haven't all grown so fast. I have put the tomato plants in the greenhouse still in their small pots but don't think we shall have a hard frost to do any damage so things seem to be looking up a bit. The potatoes are coming on well but the carrots don't seem to being doing much and the peas appear to be struggling. I think that might be due to little mice, squirrels or pigeons having a little nibble. Radishes and salad leaves are coming along nicely.
