Birds scattering by sabresun

Birds scattering

My 30th photo! (didn't think I'd get this far)

We went out early this morning to try and get some dawn shots, but it was very dark morning, the sun didn't seem to want to show up. On a tree there was a mass of birds all sitting together (not sure what type, probably sparrows), so many that you couldn't help but notice them. I took a few shots of the gathered birds and then they all took off together at the same moment. This was the only shot I managed to get of that communal flight which I've tweaked a little to highlight their wing movements in the air.
Cool editing! Really like this one.

I like it. It's quite lovely the way the camera caught all the different outlines of their flight. Happy 30th photo!

@kazzamazoo Well, we're used to dealing with inclement weather in the UK. :)

@nectarfizz The first 30 have seemed to go by quite quickly too. It's good to have a record of the days and memories associated with them.

@pwallis @hdoyle @katiegc24 @denisedaly @warmbreeze43 @shutterbugger @memphis @bilky @mittens @walkingman @walkingman @emer I was going to use the original photo as it was, but it didn't really capture the sudden burst of energy as the birds launched themselves off the branches. I'm quite pleased with the way it turned out (being very much a novice at this) Thank you for your positive replies.

Beautiful effect. Love the processing. Nice capture. I tried to get a bunch of galahs on a gum tree this morning catching the morning light; they were shining bright pink in the sun - no luck.

@girlie Oh, well. You will get that shot of the galahs :)
