A Promise of Springtime

"Mistress Mary always felt that however many years she lived she should never forget that first morning when her garden began to grow." - The Secret Garden, Frances Hodgson Burnett

It may wind up covered with snow tonight, but this little crocus and three more besides sprang up overnight in our garden. Yesterday they were just little sharp green leaves poking up over the dead leaves, this morning they were dew covered buds, and now they're open to the glorious sun.

The girls and I had to stop and admire in whispers and take pictures to prove that spring is truly coming.

(And I can't wait to get the macro filters I ordered, now that there are fun thing to try to photograph close up!)
This is lovely - I like the bright white against the gorgeous deep browny reds - perfect :)
