Pippin is over. Our last performance was Saturday night. That last performance is always so emotionally draining - not just because the show is over, but because after playing musicals and concerts and solos for these kids throughout their junior high and high school years, it's so hard to say goodbye. Every year they promise they will come back and visit, but as the adult, I know that these goodbyes are pretty permanent. They all have to go find their own corners of the sky and pursue wonderful adventures to find what makes them happy.
It's only going to get harder from here on out - the incoming class of 7th graders will contain my daughter, and all of her peers that I've already spent several years getting to know. I'm going to add a box of tissues to my gig bag...
Wonderful image and background story to go with it! As a retired teacher, I totally understand those attachments to the kids and how difficult it is to say goodbye.
@cruiser Thanks! I'm glad to have helped! I often find that someone's image or title on here is exactly what I needed to see at that moment. It's uncanny. :)
