I bought this adorable play-doh set for Matthew, thinking it was about time he had some at home - he's only ever used it at mom & tot, as I have something of a love/hate relationship with the stuff.
At first he played with it in a way that made this (maybe ever so slightly OCD) mama happy - the purple went in the purple octopus, the blue went in the blue whale, and the orange went with the orange spiky ball/fish thing.
And then?
And then.
He started putting all of the colors in the octopus.
I cringed. I gently suggested we use one color at a time and not mix them. He looked at me like I was crazy. I looked at the pristine, unmixed play-doh colors one last time, and let go.
And he made a beautiful, amazing kaleidoscope octopus. Why *wouldn't* you mix play-doh when this is the result?
(Oh, yeah, because which can do you put it in when cleaning up? See? Maybe ever so slightly OCD after all...)
