My jaw hit the floor when I saw the supply list for all her classes. The first item: six composition notebooks. Just for English class. Are they really going to write 600 pages worth of things just in English class in the course of a year? My hand is cramping up in sympathy.
That's not even counting all the other classes that needed notebooks of various types and/or an "ample supply" of college-ruled loose-leaf paper.
Somehow, we're going to have to fit this entirely covered table-top into her backpack...
@froggie0628 She's only in 7th! Hunter's list is kind of what I remember from being in school. This just seems insane - I hope she can at least reuse the binders and such next year.
@cortens I thought about that the entire time we were filling the cart. We spent a hefty percentage of our weekly grocery bill on school supplies this year, and I am certain that many families in our school district cannot afford to do that. :(
@tracys@kwind@hayleymaxwell@allycoxon@cjphoto@linnypinny Thanks! Shockingly, after putting paper in binders and cracking the writing utensils open and putting them in pencil pouches, everything (just barely) fit in her backpack. I'm glad there's a day to fill her locker, so she doesn't have to carry this all in on the first day of school!
