I actually remembered it was YOTD Monday for me today. I need to start planning and practicing my angles and my shots for my first ever wedding shoot in June. My bride will be walking down this path around the marina to the boat on which her groom will be waiting, and she will be coming from those stairs just behind this random couple. One thing I realised from these photos today, is that this is not an ideal place to shoot her and her entourage because of the sign boards and ugly water tanks etc. at the end where the road is - like here I have a sign board almost growing out of this lady's head! Good thing I'm starting to practice and plan now!
@anniesue hahaha. No way. I don't need to be watching out for my doggies as well as the bride! She will have her two grown up daughters coming over from Australia, whom she hasn't seen in a year or more, so I think her excitement is divided. They will be walking her down the path. I'm the one more likely to need something to calm the nerves
@anniesue Yes, those sign boards would have trapped me. I haven't managed to totally train myself to really "see" the background distractions when I'm trying to focus on my subject. They say to look all around the frame - but when I'm in a live situation with people or animals moving, I just don't seem to notice it :(
I was thinking short dof... You are so organised Desi! This woman’s body language - looks terrified of your tiny pup! Also, glad to see YOTD is catching on 😄 (with you too I’ve noticed @anniesue)
I admire your pluck and forward planning. You've got time to take several shots from different distances and decide which would give you best what you want to achieve. Good luck, patience and satisfaction in your run up to Your Big Day too!
