Although the events of this day in history are so far removed from me here in South Africa, I still couldn't help pondering. So much has changed in my life but this day is etched into my memory. Sitting at work watching the news unfolding on the computer screen in horror. Phoning my parents to turn on their television. Wondering how to get hold of my brother who was flying around USA quite a lot back then ...

Just sad to see such a lovely old boat with such fine lines slowly falling apart. There used to be two grand old ladies side by side, and the other one sank a couple of years ago and had to be lifted and taken away as it had become a danger to shipping just beneath the surface.
