This is the village where I grew up and my Mother still lives. The small 'stream' on the right is actually the old Mill race from when the village had a mill. The wooden structure above the small flat stone bridge is the sluice gate which controlled the water flow to the mill.
@bkbinthecity@tosee@peterlgrave@ingrid_marianna@annepann@flowerfairyann@steeler@elmay@katrinastabback thank you for your comments. It still is a relatively quiet village although it has changed quite a lot since I lived there. As a child the village had a post office, butchers shop, general shop, two garages, two pubs, and an electrical shop. There were several haulage firms in the village, a bus company, and 4 farms within the village. Now there is one pub and one farm although there is also a very successful cafe now which never used to be. @gijsje I now live 6 miles away in another small village. As I said my Mother still lives in Morland so I am there quite regularly and yesterday I visited because it was her 84th birthday.
Yet another lovely Shirley scenery shot!! That is beautiful! Your making me want to move there! ... oh, wait, that would either mean a plane or a ship ... I've never done either. Maybe I better keep my feet on the ground!
