Irish houses by shirleybankfarm

Irish houses

Fill in for November. Everywhere we travelled in Ireland there were big beautiful new houses and bungalows. Usually close by there was an old derelict house. The top left house is a huge farmhouse, behind it is the old derelict house on the top right. The third one down on the left is also derelict.
Beautiful homes!

Too bad they couldn't rehab the older houses, but I know it is usually cheaper to build new.

@photographycrazy @dizzyd @flowerfairyann @hermann @peterlgrave @sueb47 Thank you all for your kind comments. They were very grand and often because they were built with a lot of open space around them they looked out of character. @annepann I agree it is a shame they couldn't rehab the old houses because some of them looked to be quite good houses, it all seemed such a waste.

@lavenderhouse Thank you Malcolm, they do look rather expensive but there were an awful lot of them I think they were built on Grants from the EU when Ireland went into the Euro currency.
