It wasn't me! by shirleybankfarm

It wasn't me!

This is Kruger, our 13 month old pure British Blue bull. He has just had his ring put in his nose so he looks like a real bull now. He obviously thought this gave him the right to wreck his pen. Good job he is a big softy. :) The animal in the background is Jasper another pure Blue Bull who is 18 months old.
I suppose he now thinks he's very trendy - I've seen girls with rings in their noses!

Teenagers! To the uninitiated (me!) I might not know they were the same breed - they're quite different colours.

...and here I thought the far one was a Holstein. tells you hw little I know about them.

@anniesue British Blue cattle can come in many colours from Black to white and a mixture in between. Some have a grey tinge around the black patches as well.

@maggiemae He does look rather smart now with his nice shiny copper ring.

@bruni Ha ha, I think if you saw him fully you would know he wasn't a Holstein.

I love the surprised expression. I guess he is now asserting his authority :)

There's always pain to growing up and I guess he's just found that out. A very handsome beast Shirley.

@hermann @flowerfairyann @pyrrhula @gijsje @dizzyd @deborah63 @snowy @tunia @pdulis @tosee @leestevo @tonydebont @bkbinthecity Thank you all for your lovely comments. Tunia, there is nothing he likes better than a fuss and pet, having said that we are always aware that he is a bull. You always have to be watchful because his way of getting your attention is to give you a nudge with his head which as he gets bigger is quite forceful. Which leads me on to Tom's question, the ring is to control him if he gets too playful. Also because we hope to show him this year we need the ring. When leading him on halter we will have another rope attached to the ring by a clip and if he gets too frisky a gentle tug on the ring reminds him who is boss.

You would get agro too if we put a ring through your nose Shirley !! lol
Nice shot.
I used to hate it when dad used to de- horn the cows. They used to get all worked up with the smell of the blood.

He looks so innocent!

@peterlgrave I don't like to watch the de-horning either and the smell is awful. The vet puts the ring in for us so he won't associate us with it happening. @dide Ha Ha the evidence says other wise.
