At last I have managed to get a half decent picture of the woodpecker. Usually the second I get my camera up and focused he's off and I just get either a blur or nothing.
Very timely capture indeed. I have been trying to get a good picture of my local Woodpecker for almost a year now..it is the most elusive bird out there..Well done!

I was amazed to see this on the PP and TP. It really was a chance shot and the only shot, one second later he was gone. Gayle, I had not noticed the Great Tit on the left I was too happy to have got the woodpecker. Tony I don't normally have much success with birds I haven't got a big enough zoom on my camera really, but I suppose we all have to be lucky once in a while.
