Snow again

We have a decent covering of snow again this morning coupled with quite a strong wind. It is not quite as bad as the snow at the beginning of the month but some of the roads are quite dodgy to travel on because of drifts. Even in the lambing shed some of the sheep could not avoid the snow as it blew in through the boarding on the side of the shed. Still far better for them in the shed than the field.

Tough conditions for the sheep that are lambing. Suspect many lambs would be lost in the open.

As Helge says they are wearing 100% pure wool, plus the lanolin in the wool makes the fleece waterproof. Tony we were lucky we only had 17 sheep with their lambs outside and they were all OK. I haven;t heard of any lambs lost this time but last weekend which was much worse, some of our friends did loose sheep and lambs.
