Day 18 - Lychgate by snaggy

Day 18 - Lychgate

This is our village church's Lychgate, where traditionally the pall-bearers can shelter during a funeral (its all fun tonight!).

Anyway, it was really just a nice place to take a photograph on our first day of snow this year - another 30 second exposure in very dark conditions. Composition was a bit of a compromise (I had to stand in the road, although it is pretty quiet!), but compared to my other attempts around the village, it's ok.
Very pretty. Interesting description also regarding the pall bearers.

Beautiful ... Looks like a painting!

I think it's grand. The reflectiveness of the snow has probably helped increase the brightness during that long exposure - I honestly thought it was a daytime shot at first.

Nice picture, Kev. Please let me know when and where you next plan to stand in the road, and I'll drive over and see you... ;)

@joeboo @steampowered @paulavdmerwe @nebzphoto Thanks all for your comments, with a special mention for JoeBoo ;-(). I was amazed how it came out actually - was a bit dark SOOC, hit the white selector thingy (selected on the snow) on Lightroom and bang, there it was.
