Cruising Buddies

Here we are in Onsett, MA. We met Rick and Tanya in Gloucester and Steve and Mollie had been with us since Nova Scotia. The six of us just had the very best time together all the way to Newport, Rhode Island where Steve and Mollie left us. You can see the Nova Scotians - they are wearing shorts and the rest of us are warmly dressed. (Steve took the picture for me)
This is a great group shot! How much fun is it that you met some cruising buddies to share your adventures with!

You know, I've been meaning to ask you but I keep forgetting. What kind of boat do you have (or did you have... I think I remember you saying you didn't have one now, or am I making that up?)?

What wonderful friendships you formed along the way. I have little doubt how it happened...you seem like you'd be delightful company, and people who travel also love the company of others who travel as well!

Sounds like a great time :) Your comments remind me of a time my wife and I were at an outdoor concert in chicago in late April. The band stopped playing and the leader singer points to me and says "You're Canadian, right?" I siad yes. She said she could tell because I was the only one eating ice cream while everyone else was freezing!

Hi Suzie, I have just discovered your "Travels" album and I love it. I went back and read each of your posts and followed you down the coast. Your photos are beautiful. What a wonderful way to document your sailing excursion and it is quite impressive. I assume you sleep on your boat, how long were you on the boat? I can't help but wonder, as an EA, how did you get that much time off from work? I am jealous.
I too, love anything nautical or having to do with the sea. As you know I live on Cape Cod and Onset has a very special meaning to me so I was very excited to see this shot. Last summer, my pack (me, hubby and our 2 dogs) spent most of our weekends in Onset as our boat (a 26' Chapparel Cruiser) was docked at the Stonebridge Marina. It is such a fun, quirky little town. However, last week was bittersweet for us as we sold our boat after 5 years. It was sucking up too much time & money and with the purchase of our ski place in NH last year, it didn't make sense, summer is just not long enough up here.

It's nice to meet people and travel together. yes the Canadians are in shorts. when we were in Germany no one wore shorts and people looked kind of funny at us ...but then they had a heat wave and maybe tthought it was a great idea to wear shorts.
