The Grosbeaks Are Still Here

Just another pic to mark the fact that the Evening Grosbeaks are still here. It seems it's a bit of an oddity, at least for this year for some reason. The numbers are dwindling ... just a half dozen or so at a time.

Many thanks for dropping by.
Ive noticed you've nearly completed - clap :) lovely nature shot too.

Anne, I love your bird shots so much and have tried so hard to capture songbirds (and even squirrels) this winter, with very mixed results that I rarely post. You have a gift for these shots and I know this from all my failed attempts.

@lauriehiggins you're very kind laurie! this is one of those pics i want for the subject material, not the focus or comp ... lol. it was a busy day with lots of people and dogs around to scare them off so i was happy to get this in spite of the shortcomings.

they look like finches

@corymbia yes Amanda, they sure do look like finches from a colour point of view. Here's a pic of the female with an American Goldfinch to give you an idea of the difference in size: http://365project.org/sunnygreenwood/365/2012-02-06
