Those of you who followed me last winter here at 365 will recognize the railing where we feed the birds. We actually started putting seeds out yesterday just after I took this pic ... the earliest ever. We're thinking that there's not as much food for the birds given the extreme dry weather we've had over the summer. Normally we don't start until October or November. These gourds probably have some seeds inside that some of the birds would like! The "lily pad" plate is a hand made one from my niece.
A lovely yard decoration, but our squirrels would ruin this within a month ;-) I look forward to seeing all your beautiful birds again. As soon as this rain lets up I need to do some work in my bird area.....everything is so wet and yucky!
I remember you bird cafe - load up on those seeds! :) We were thinking about putting our bird feeder up for the fall/winter season now that the cooler nights are here. Now that we have a bigger backyard, might have to purchase a few more!
Such a happy looking frog! Looking forward to your winter bird shots--but sorry the drought has been so bad. My brother in Colorado has noticed a lot of changes in the wildlife around him as the animals forage farther for food.
