Today marks the return of the Goldfinches and Grosbeaks to our 'Railing Café'. With any luck, they [and dozens of their buddies] will be here for the rest of the fall and winter. They are two birds with similar colours but they're much different in size, and interestingly enough, they seem to travel together. They were just a bit out of range for the zoom on my older camera. Only 4 or 5 more sleeps until my broken camera is replaced.
Very pretty shot and a pretty bird. I don't think we have those in Pennsylvania. They must really like the cold. What a nice uplifting wonder of nature to have in the winter.
Still has some of its summer colour left! Lovely capture Anne....there are goldfinches around but I have never seen one on my feeder in the 7 years we have been here!
