The soft focus on the cardinal is bothering me so i'm going to post another pic sooner rather than later ... lol. I find the shape of these little nuthatches odd to begin with and at this angle, they're even weirder.

I agree with your assessment of odd shapes. . .they are sometimes so incredibly smooth, it's hard to believe that they even have feathers! Darling pose here. . .
