Harry the Hairy visits the railings regularly. He can be distinguished from his cousins the Downy Woodpeckers by his larger size, his longer bill [although that's not so obvious from this angle] and his white outer tail feathers [also hardly visible here]. I like his hairy chin!
How cool is he! I'm working on tring to get the birds to come to the deck by doing what you do with the seed on the railing. Its not working so well. My Sasha thinks its fun to run after them. So I have a new feeder I'm going to put up and she will not be about to get near it. I just love all your bird shots.
@rosiekind thanks rosie, couldn't agree more on the lens aspect of this camera. great zoom, although the focus is frustrating sometimes ... i find i have to cut back on the zoom to get it to focus sometimes and i end up missing the shot. great when it works tho! ;-)
