New England Aster [Symphyotrichum novae-angliae], one of the prettier native wild flowers around here, sometimes sold in garden centres! They usually grow in fields and along roadsides but this one is growing in some rocks in the middle of the river! Many thanks for dropping by.
I love wild asters. Unfortunately there don't seem to be as many of them around now as I used to see when I was growing up in the Niagara Peninsula. I like the light in this capture.
Very pretty. I planted some New England Aster this spring in my native plant garden, and it is blooming right now.. It is supposed to be good for pollinators.
