We saw some very interesting night sights in Beijing. This one shows the Olympic Park Observation Tower off in the distance.
There was almost no discussion with our tour guide regarding the 2008 summer olympics that were held in Beijing. We heard that almost all of the buildings erected for the olympics are now empty and locked, with the word 'Museum' mounted at the entrance.
Wikipedia says that construction of the tower in this pic "began in 2008, to coincide with the summer olympics; it was completed and opened in 2014. It is used strictly for observation; there is no provision for offices or apartments."
