Day 2 started at a freshwater pearl shop. Some people who take organized tours in China say they felt pressured to buy at these shopping stops but that wasn't our experience at all. All the stops included facility tours and/or displays. As for the actual purchasing, our bus did their share of shopping, I'd say!
I'm personally happy to stop at some places like this. You can see and learn a lot, and if the desire to "purchase" overtakes you, you're in the right place!
