I had a photoshoot on saturday; a funeral & a memorial service. Not much fun but I´m not complaining for gaining the experience for different types of shootings anyway. This lovely rose was part of the table decorations. After the memorial service was over, I asked if I could take one of these roses with me to shoot and was offered to take all of them, which I gladly did. I love roses but don´t know how to shoot them, I keep on trying anyway hoping that someday I`ll get it right, here´s yet another try. I wasn´t quite sure should I keep it in colours or turn it in b&w so I did both. The coloured version here http://365project.org/susale/365/2014-07-28

Looks less crappy on black
I really like this in B&W with that slight grainy look, great processing

He isn't even on here anymore, but here is his FB photo page. His name is Jani, and his selfies are the BEST! https://www.facebook.com/Fotojani

Given how you acquired this rose, the sombre, rather sad treatment seems very appropriate - nicely done.

sombre yet beautiful

beautiful processing, the dreary look of it really conveys the mood you would feel at a funeral

It's very pretty. In the thumbnail version, I'm attracted to the color. But the b/w does bring out some nice contrast in tone.

I think that knowing the setting, this shot is really perfect in capturing the feeling of memorializing someone.

Love the light and processing here. This has an almost Victorian times look to it.
