We were welcomed to Virginia Beach by Tropical Storm Elsa. We lucked out in that the two tornadoes she spun up relatively nearby were 10 and 15 miles away from us and weren't headed in our direction. It was otherwise just a typical midwest thunderstorm (but on the east coast). Other areas of the country, particularly Florida, were hit much harder.
