The tickseed sunflower (Bidens aristosa) is a very pretty flower and there were lots of them in a field near home. In looking up what the flower was I discovered that Thomas Jefferson grew them in his garden at Monticello (which is about an hour's drive west of home). They are still grown there and tickflower seeds can be purchased through the Monticello website.
