It was a clear day looking out to sea from the Virginia Beach oceanfront. The ship here is the US Naval Ship Kanawha, a fleet replenishment oiler, headed into its home port of Naval Station Norfolk. It supplies ships with their fuel, or in the case of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, the aviation fuel for the carrier's aircraft.
