Riding the Waves

It was a cold but bright sunny day so Pam and I decided to take a ride to Banning State Park; to take some photos of the Kettle River. It never freezes for it is moving too fast. It has wonderful waves, holes and kettles that have been scoured out of the bedrock. In the parking lot we met Jim who was putting on a dry suit in preparation to paddle blueberry slide and ride some waves among the ice encrusted rocks. So here is Jim
Goodness, what a chilly and compelling action shot! Go, Jim! :)

Even better than the other at capturing the action. How is he not freezing! I guess he's working too hard.

I like the colour version of this Tom - the close-up and the orange of the canoe open up details that are lost in the B&W. Fav for me.

Fun to watch but I would want to be in that water even with the gear.
