Fat Tire by tosee

Fat Tire

As I was driving my car around Cedar Lake I spotted
this chap riding his fat tire bike on the frozen Lake. I had to find a parking space, run to the
shoreline where I could get a shot. Only had a 35mm lens(which I seem to be shooting almost all the time) so had to crop. Downtown Minneapolis is
in the upper right. Only one person on the lake since the wind chill was -7 f.
Ohhhh...I saw a bike in town today with ridiculously fat tires. Is that for riding on ice? You did great with your composition and crop.

@aecasey Yes fat tire bikes are for winter riding, ice snow etc.

Really fantastic!! I used to live on 44th and Bloomington near Lake Nokomis, for a year when I was in grad school (back in the late 1970s). I'd walk my dog on the middle of the lake in the winter, because it was the only place to go where he could be off leash relatively safely. This brought it all back -- so cold and isolated!

Nicely spotted. I like the negative space. Shows off the rider well.

Had to check -7F equivalent...-21C. That sure is cold. Before I checked the temp, it looked cold. Now I know it why.

Splendid shot. Love the dark bike and rider against the white ice.
