My dog barked a warning and ran upstairs. On investigation I found this little tree snake on the verandah only four steps away from where I was working on the computer. Hobo1 chased him back into the garden and I was able to catch this shot.
He'd paused to test the air with his little forked tongue. His receptors must have screamed,"Humans!" because the instant I took this he reeled back and disappeared under the lilies. These are the same lilies where I photographed on 31st March, the little green frogs - a favourite food of these non-venomous green tree snakes.
