Pond Jewels

Saw these floating on a cattle trough today with the plant growth on them making them shine like jewels in the sun.

the colours are really interesting... i still can't make out what I'm looking at really... could be some plant from another plant to me... is it some kind of water-snails?

@kaisisland yes it is snails clinging to each other and a leaf of grass. They are covered in moss as well.
