Silver. This morning we were surrounded by silver as the whole farm was hidden under a thick, silver blanket of fog.
Silver... Very topical in the Australian media at the moment. Our Aussie Olympians have "only" been winning silver and have our media in a state of dismay. Oh how I wish the press would stop trying to stir up controversy and simply report the outstanding achievements of the world's athletes.
I watched the badminton gold medal men's playoff lastnight between China and Malaysia. What a performance! A truely remarkable example of sustained concentration and effort by two outstanding athletes. But did I hear mention of their game today? No. Our Aussie commentators are out there adding fuel to the "only silver" fire they are trying to fan. Our poor athletes must be so disappointed by this negativity from our nation's press.
Last event should be the decathlon- gymnastic - swim - boxing- weightlifting- cycle- rowing- synchronised-hockey -marathon race for all Olympic- sporting-commentators. Nothing less than Gold will do. Ready, Set, GO!
Wonderful silvery shot - well spotted and captured!
I agree with you... here our commentators are saying 'disappointment as they only got a silver' - and I want to say 'WOW they got a silver medal?!' I remember the girl dancing up and down at her delight on winning bronze! Delighted to see Federer grin and kiss his silver medal yesterday...(although of course we were jumping up and down that Murray isn't just another 'almost good British tennis player'!)
Unfortunately it is always like that, Margaret. The media only tell stories of tragedies, unreached goals. They rarely laud the beautiful moments of life and achievements. Beautiful capture.
