Where do you worship? This is St Mary's Catholic Church in Ubobo. Doesn't quite have the grandeur of your churches in Malta Dione but services are held here on the third Sunday of each month when a small committed group gather to worship. The priest travels out 75 km to take the service. The church itself began its life back in the gold rush days in Calliope. When a new brick church was built this little wooden one was brought out to Ubobo and has served the Boyne Valley community ever since.
i thought this looked very 'rural qld' when i spotted it on the 'latest' page. then i immediately recognised your surname.
we have lots of little churches like this in the various districts surrounding Gympie. i find them fascinating. they always remind me of Anne of Green Gables, and almost always have stonefruit trees out the back.
How that takes me back - spent many hours in a similiar one. I love the rusting tank on one side and the flowering fruit tree (I think) on the other side. The church is well maintained Did I hear a caller from the visitor's centre call Macca from the phonebox yesterday?
Cute little church, Margaret. Thanks for showing it and for the info. The grandeur of the church is irrelevant. What matters is that people go in there with the right state of mind to meet the Lord.
