60th Anniversary

What a lovely day. Today our community celebrated the 60th wedding anniversary of two treasured community members. Morning tea preceded a church service in the same little village church where they were married. They took the opportunity to renew their wedding vows during the service. Then we served lunch for the gathering of over 90 family and friends. An album of congratulatory letters was given to them by our local member of parliament. It included a letter from the Queen, signed Elizabeth R. Pride of place however was given to her gorgeous wedding gown. Daughters, granddaughters nieces and daughters-in-law were in awe of Mum's/gran's/aunty's tiny waistline all those years ago.
That must have been a very happy day for all those present, especially the bride and groom. The wedding dress still looks as new. Thank you for sharing this shot and recounting the event.

@sangwann @vernabeth @jan11 @triciaodonnell Thankyou all for stopping by. Dione, the dress was amazingly well preserved. Looked as if it had just come off the shelf.
