...and ready for market. Last week one of our political leaders said when talking about the drought spreading across the nation, "It's a case of, JUST ADD WATER." Well this is what happens when you do - one of our bullocks fattened on irrigated pastures. Rain is falling in inland Australia. Lets hope it works its way east.
@terryliv Thanks Poppo. I wish he could tell his story. In the Australia Day floods of 2013 this paddock was completely under water and he was one of the 56 head of cattle we had swept away in the flood waters. He was located about 10 miles downstream. I often wonder what he experienced that night.
What a magnificent beast in a beautiful, pastoral setting. It is sad learning about your drought, but I am grateful for 365 to know about it and other things I am learning about the world through it.
I have not seen cattle like this since I worked at Biloela and travelled to Rockhampton, however the scenery reminds me of a bit further north. Am I close? Absolutely love the subject and execution.
Enjoyed reading his story, Margaret. Sometimes things get difficult even if not through our fault. In Summer we get not a single drop of rain and the fields are parched unless they are irrigated. The bullock looks beautiful to me.
@cate54 you are in the right area. We are due east of Biloela and an hour and a half south of Rockhampton . Well spotted. Thanks for the lovely comment on the photo.
