Two thumbs by ubobohobo

Two thumbs

One of my favourite childhood stories was "The Story of Two Thumbs the Koala" written by Leslie Rees. I had to wait till 1964 when I was at Training College to see one of these beautiful animals at Lone Pine Sanctuary in Brisbane. I never thought then that a time would come when I'd be watching my own Two Thumbs from the front verandah.
What a fabulous shot of the two thumbs.

I love how he seems to be hugging the tree and that his face seems to convey contentment. So cute!

He seems to be ready for a nap! I think I remember that he might have been sick- is he better? Cute fellow!

Lovely shot. We visited Lone Pine a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the experience, but there's nothing like discovering koalas in the wild!

@olivetreeann He's not sick as such but has a disease/infection, in one eye which by today's picture does look as if it could be improving. I hope so. He's sleeping in this shot.

@terryliv Yes. See comment above. We don't know of any other koalas around here so it is a thrill to have him staying so long. He is so at home in our blue gums. I would love to find a group who had some females they'd like to release. Imagine a family of koalas in the garden!!!

I must have missed out on reading about Two Thumbs. It is lovely to be able to keep tabs on this fellow and to share on 365 so we all benefit.
