While searching for the koala this afternoon I came across this tiny little toadstool. The combination of colours caught my eye. Still like it. So its become my shot for the day. However, I wish the shadow wasn't across its delicate white cap...but too late now. Decision has been made.
I don't know about you but that's the sort of thing that I cant see in the camera screen (the shadow I mean). I can never spot these oddities until I have it on a big screen...totally annoying when a small change of Pov would have fixed it. All this does is prove how lazy I've become since I have a screen to check in...back in the days (says camera at my right elbow) you made sure because you wouldn't be able to see it until the flm was processed. I'm going to take camera (ie real camera) for a walk this week to see if I can break some bad habits... which has nothing at all to do with this shot, which is still, even with shadows...pretty cool.
What a lovely specimen. Not sure what caused this shadow, but if I see this with my orchid and fungus shots, I sometimes remove the grass making the shadow - or if that is not possible, I lift it aside or wight it down. Thus the environment is unharmed.
I like that your photo shows its setting with grass blades and leaves. They not only add texture and more color, but they give the tiny toadstool a sense of scale.
