I'm accepting Marie's challenge A for Animal Month in April. http://365project.org/discuss/themes-competitions/21887/a-for-animal-month-in-april
Hubby was ploughing and while I waited to pick him up for lunch, I went searching for animals on a gum tree and disturbed this fellow behind a loose piece of bark. I pulled the bark off to get this photo but wished I hadn't because a whole collection of little animals were hidden behind it. Oh, and by the way, although this centipede hasn't got 100 legs you might like to check. He should have 42 - that is 21 pairs - as he is a Scolopendrid centipede.
This is delightful in colour and design, although I can imagine you didn't have too much time to compose your picture. Haven't seen the "tiger" stripe variety. Good that you identified and describes it for us.
@jan11 Thanks Jan for sticking with me. I've been so busy of late. Haven't had a minute to myself. Hope things slow down from here on now rain has taken the pressure off.
He is an interesting little guy! The first photo we ever posted on 365 was a snake. We stopped our bike ride to snap his picture, and he took off for the brush. Charlie grabbed his tail and dropped him back on the trail, and was he mad! It was a foreshadowing of what lengths we would go for a photo! http://365project.org/cejaanderson/365/2013-08-15
