Not quite apparently. Here in Australia the official solstice does not occur until 3:16am tomorrow. But who cares? All I know is that at this time of the year the sun peeps into the office and sets my glasspaper weight alight. So like the Incas, if my paperweight is on fire it's winter solstice for me.
How novel! I"ve got a paper weight just a bit like this! We look at the angle the sun comes up and goes down and put a mark on the windowsill! This is a lovely colourful abstract! Have a good shortest day!
