Reach for the Sky

My friends orange trumpet creeper has almost reached the top of this big hoop pine and looks brilliant in the morning sun of a winter's morning.

It is certainly beautiful! We have orange trumpet vines here, but we're told not to plant them nearby a house as they may cause damage. I wonder if this vine could possibly overtake the tree. I love their cheerful bright blossoms.

I was wondering the same thing as Jane before I read her comment. We try to get rid of the trumpets, but it's nearly impossible. Even plants that do damage can be beautiful though.

I thought about the vine destroying the tree too but this tree looks so big, it doesn't seem to be a threat. Great colors!
