A Day at Home

Our second batch of turkey chicks in three months. Happy now that a visiting dog raided the nest and only two poults hatched. You could soon be overrun with gobbling turkeys at this rate.
Just saw two wild turkeys wandering through my woods the other day. A sad sign that summer is going to be winding down soon. They can be quite prolific around here as well. Good shot though!

Well, I think it's precious. At least to look at. And one day it will be luscious to gobble.

This little chap looks so sweet. It reminds me of when we lived in Cyprus for 3 years and wild turkeys used to live in the bushland at the back of our village. Not for long though because the locals used to catch them and eat them.
