Early Morning by ubobohobo

Early Morning

The sighting of three dingoes among the cows drew me away from my early morning cup of coffee to discover this sad site - the downside of farm life.
Oh, this is heartbreaking with the mama cow seeing what has happened. What a powerful photo, Margaret.

My husband always says that while ever you have live animals you'll have dead ones. This doesn't make these sad sights any easier to take though

So sorry, Margaret. Nature is cruel.

That is a sad sight Margaret......nine months & then this ...poor mum & of course a financial loss for the farmer. Something we never had to cope with but you always have to look out for I would think. Are dingoes a big problem for you & are you allowed to shoot them? Foxes get our chickens ...I suppose the same on a lot smaller less costly way.

@happypat Yes Pat we can shoot them. There is actually a bounty on each dingo scalp ($25.00). This keeps numbers under control but with last years drought and consequently a ready food supply of dead animals they must have been able to breed successfully and the pack that did this damage were half-grown crossbreeds- dingo/husky cross.
